December 2021

Dear friends, I hope the holiday season finds you healthy and busy. It has been a grand Summer and Fall of many gigs with the new found liberation of being able to go out and hear and play music. Let’s hope we can all make it through this Winter with good health and continued musical celebrations!

The Royal Bopsters continue to win acclaim and gain fans globally. Since our CD, Party of Four, was released November, 2020, it has enjoyed worldwide airplay and daily spins on WBGO. It received 4 stars from Downbeat, and was included on Downbeat’s Best CD’s of 2020 list, with rave reviews across the board. The Royal Bopsters were voted #1 Vocal Jazz Group by JazzTimes’ 2021 Extended Critics’ poll. We are so grateful for the accolades and airplay. We Bopsters continue to book great gigs, with the upcoming Jazz Nativity, Dec 9, and Pangea, Dec 22, 2021, plus the Jazz Educators Conference January 7, Minton’s March 5, and Birdland May 13, 14 and 15, 2022. We have invitations from William Paterson University’s Jazz Room Series, Deerhead Inn, Ronnie Scott’s in London and Poysdorf Jazz Festival in Austria all coming up in the Spring and Summer 2022, dates TBA. Please stay in touch with us via our website:

I am absolutely thrilled to be singing as a soloist as well as my soprano role in the Bopsters. I have been reunited musically with my dear friend Mike Hashim, who led the terrific Widespread Depression Band in the 80’s and 90’s. Since July, we have been playing at Swing 46 on Restaurant Row in NYC, and will continue to do so into the future. Please join us there, Mike always has a revolving door of top shelf jazz musicians in his band, it is always fun, swinging and joyous! We will be there Tuesday, December 21, please join us!

I am so excited to be hitting the road with three upcoming tours. I will be playing in Syracuse, NY, Friday, December 10; December 21, Caffe Vivace in Cincinnati, Ohio, December 28 and JazzWorks, Ottawa, Canada, January 15, 2022. Please see my Performances page for details.

I am very grateful to be healthy, and back out singing again, after this long period of diminished activity. I hope all of you continue to be well, and are able to get out and enjoy all the music, theater and art that has re-opened. Best wishes to all for a happy, healthy new year full of new activities and progress for our culture.
